Furnace Issues
Sometimes, we have to learn the hard way to be thankful for our blessing, and that’s what happened to me.
A few weeks ago, my husband and I were lying in bed when we realized that the house was a little colder than usual.
It was pretty cold outside, so we just ignored it for a little while. We finished the TV show that we were watching and got ready for bed. By the time we got in bed, it was really chilly, so my husband checked the thermostat. It was only forty-five degrees in our house! I couldn’t believe it; it felt cold, but not that cold! We went downstairs to check and see if the furnace was on, and unfortunately, it wasn’t. My husband tried to figure out what was wrong, but he eventually quit without hope. We called an HVAC electrician early the next morning. After hours of work, he basically told us that it was hopeless, and we needed a new furnace. We immediately began our search to try and get the best deal on a new furnace that we could while keeping in mind that we had to get one quickly because it was the middle of December. We had a new furnace installed and heating the house two days later, but I will never forget how cold it got in the house for the couple of days and nights that we didn’t have a working furnace. Ever since then, I have tried to take the time each day to reflect on the tremendous blessings of life that I often overlook such as having a warm house!
