This temporary rental property is motivation to own our HVAC again
This whole process of trying to sell our family condo and entering a new chapter in this life has been at once both exhilarating and exhausting, but finally, my friend and I are in a rented home that is maybe an eighth of the living space that my friend and I occupied in our family home.
- But that was by design.
However, I’m not too content with the low quality heating and air or lack there of. I assume I sort of conveniently forgot just how weak, unreliable and inconsistent residential HVAC inside and a condo can be. This was just the same way when I was a young man just out of school and had our very first apartment. The HVAC in our home is pretty much consistently breaking down. And I have yet to find an HVAC professional out here actually fixing anything. Instead, when I call the rental office to kvetch that there is no more air conditioner yet again, I get the same handyman knocking on the door. I am not calling the guy out because all he’s doing is doing his job. But it never really gets fixed. I even called the rental office and provided to have the HVAC team come out here and I would pay the difference. But they were not biting and pretty much forbid myself and others to do it by ourselves. So I assume after all the frustration and energy expended to get moved into this much smaller space comes with a speed bump. I was hoping to just relax for a year or so at least. But with the HVAC situation as dire as it is, our wife and I are just extra motivated to find our condo for the future a whole lot sooner.
