Modern convenience appliances are great but we need another modern HVAC appliance

We have three daughters and one boy.
Ours is a busy family but in different capacities. Growing up, we lived a different lifestyle than our kids today. Back then, we lived with necessities; looking at our kids, they are privileged to have excesses. But that is understandable because we now live in a world where modern conveniences are the order of the day. We can attest to that with our farming products and equipment. However, our concern is more with the kids than us, especially the girls. The boy is fine. It’s a different story for the girls who need an air purification system. They didn’t want separate rooms, so we had to modify one bedroom and convert it into a bigger space to accommodate the three of them. It’s ironic knowing well teenage girls like their privacy but not them. They share many girly gadgets that rely on power, and my wife pointed out the need to improve the air quality in their room. If not, we consider installing a whole-home air purification system. We had to act on it sooner, otherwise, the air filter would be overwhelmed with clogs, and duct cleaning might end up being costlier now that we live in an old farmhouse. I considered upgrading to a smart HVAC, but the cost is still prohibitive. Right now, the air purification help is all we need. Although the HVAC technician is aware of the condition of our HVAC equipment, we hope that the home service can sustain us long enough to provide reliable indoor air quality with the help of an air purification setup for the girls’ room. Once ready, we can revisit the topic with an HVAC professional to upgrade the house’s HVAC.
