Is a gas fireplace the type of heating system for my living room?
I can always recall being home as a child during the winter time.
Our family was constantly together at my grandparents house every weekend.
Our grandparents house was convenient for the rest of the family since their home was in the middle between my family’s home and my extended family’s. During the holidays there was at least twenty people in their home gathered around the tree, talking, laughing and kids playing. At night everything would wind down, the cousins would stop playing and lay on the floor whispering, while the parents relaxed and talked. As the night went on the sound of conversing would slow down and you could hear the crackle of the fireplace. I love the sound of fireplaces. They bring back so many memories. I always wanted a fireplace in my house. My HVAC provider sells gas fireplaces. I was unsure if I wanted a gas fireplace because having a real fireplace I feel like would heat my home a lot better during the winter time. But having the ability to control the fireplace would be ideal for my home. My HVAC technician told me that I can control the fireplace through a thermostat that is basically the same one that is installed through my HVAC system. I can also hook the thermostat up to a remote as well so I don’t have to walk over to the thermostat to adjust the temperature. My HVAC technician also told me that a gas fireplace is just as effective as an actual fireplace. Gas fireplaces are measured in BTU’s just like a portable air conditioner. I was intrigued and went with the gas fireplace.
