Satisfied with window a/cs
I was never overly interested in centralized a/c for my home.
After the especially long, cold winters and the need to keep the property sealed up tight, I look forward to opening the windows, freshening up the living environment and enjoying the breeze.
It’s a relief to avoid high energy bills for a few months. Plus, my family spends the majority of their time outdoors. My friend and I have a very comfortable patio area with a barbecue grill, an in-ground pool and a trampoline for the kids. My kids also like to ride their bikes, rollerblade and play soccer. My spouse and I cherish working on the lawn and gardens and great on the patio. The only time the heat and humidity are a problem is at night. It can be just about impossible to sleep in an hot, muggy environment, since our summer time season only lasts for two to three months, window a/cs give an straight-forward and affordable solution. I was able to purchase a cooling component for each family room at the local property improvement store. I looked for sales and found nice quality models for under two hundred dollars each. The units are compact, lightweight and self-explanatory to install. They each include a cordless remote that allows adjustment of temperature, air direction and fan speed, then every family room can be set to an individual comfort preference without affecting the rest of the house, however despite the small size, the window a/cs are powerful enough to cool down a large family room very hastily and effectively on a moderate night. The a/cs are surprisingly energy efficient. Since we only run them for a few hours, the cost of operation is negligible.
