Winterizing greatly decreased the heating costs
I have to say that I’ve never been happier this deep into winter… First, both of us are easily toasty in our home; I mean prefer sit on the couch in shirt sleeves category of cozy, but that’s never been the case as long as we’ve been here, then and that’s squarely on myself and others for not getting after prepping the apartment for winter; But this fall, I just got the feeling that this would be a giant saver for us if I did our area with the Winter prep.
I’d heard that sealing up a apartment good and slender helped with heating costs.
I do not suppose that I put that much stock into what I heard. But the apartment can get kind of loud on the weekends with all the youngsters, then so getting out for a few weekends to winterize our home seemed rather appealing. It was easily easy because all I had to do was go to the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier website. I downloaded their Winter prep checklist and just took it step by step. They even had a list of materials that I would need from the home improvement store, essentially, all I did was put a slender seal on our home. I did replace both storm doors and added additional weather stripping around the entrances. I also made sure that every gap or crack I could find on the outside of the apartment with sealed tight. Finally, I rolled out some additional insulation and that was pretty much that, then here I am in January having saved over 20% on our heating costs so far this winter. But better than the heating savings is the heating in our apartment as it’s so undoubtedly warm in here.
