Getting the heater tune-up before the homecoming dance

It took us about three weeks to get everything in order, and come the night of the dance; the electric heat pump was at its best

I have been the maintenance person for the town’s high school for a decade, and working with the kids has been a pleasure. I often help prepare the school gym for prom and homecoming dances. This year, we had a lot of new students, and it was a chance to showcase our events and our great gym. The organizer for the dance came to me to help get everything ready, including the electric heating system, and ensure quality indoor comfort for everyone attending. The first order of business was to contact the local heater business and book an appointment with the heating technician for comprehensive heater maintenance. Fortunately, I got an available HVAC serviceman to come the next day. In the meantime, I organized my team for a general cleanup of the gymnasium. The school management requested that students and staff stay home because of the snowstorm. I had just gotten my HVAC professional to fix my electric heater, so when I received the alert to stay home, I decided to catch up on my novel. The technicians tuned up the heater early the next day and changed some worn-out parts. They also advised that HEPA filters were better than the washable filters we used on the heating device. The technician got a dozen filters from the HVAC supplier and showed my team and me how to replace them. He confirmed the wireless thermostat was working fine, and they were done fixing the heating equipment within three hours. It took us about three weeks to get everything in order, and come the night of the dance; the electric heat pump was at its best. The students enjoyed the dance and had fun that night.
