Visiting the HVAC dealer for an assignment
Our first assignment for our environmental class when I joined school several years ago was to visit any company and find out what products they were selling were temperature-friendly, and i’d heard my mom discuss with the HVAC serviceman how the electric heat pump needed to be popularized not only for its energy efficiency but also for how temperature-friendly it is.
That’s why I decided to visit the heating company and learn more about the electric heating method and how it works as a better option.
I knew that the HVAC professional would be too scheduled to have time to reply to all my questions, so I planned to do it by scheduling a gas furnace service visit at home. I’m fortunate the people I was with and I live in the same area as my school so I can do several things simultaneously. Both of us use an electric gas furnace at home, so my questions revolved around understanding why it was considered a temperature-friendly heating device; Our gas furnace was okay, but the only thing that needed to be done was decreasing our disposable HEPA filter. The other components, including the wireless control unit, were still toiling efficiently. I knew that was the likely scenario, however I needed to do my assignment using the gas furnace as my focus which I explained to the heating professional! Lucky for me, the HVAC company runs a client education program, so I was slotted in to ask all the questions I’d want to ask. That’s how I l gained that electric heating unit is less carbon-intensive, which is how it gets the consideration for being temperature-friendly. The main issue with furnaces and boilers is that they mostly use fossil fuels, however my final presentation featured additional components, including the wireless control unit and how it makes the heat pump more efficient in saving energy.
