HVAC maintenance pays for itself

This will be the last winter for the heat pump. Granted, we don’t need a ton of heating here but when we do, that heat pump got it done. No, this is the end of that great residential HVAC unit. Actually, that old heat pump was the first real appliance my wife and I ever purchased together. It was the first thing we did to this house once we owned it. Our funds were a bit limited so we couldn’t go with the very top end of heating and cooling equipment. However, thanks to our awesome HVAC company, we got a really good, middle tier HVAC unit. I can remember being so proud once that heat pump was installed. My wife and I felt like we were indeed homeowners. And to protect that investment, we made sure that we got the heat pump heating maintenance every single fall. That was always followed with an air conditioning tune up in the spring. We did this year in and year out. There were a few times that I almost questioned what we were spending on HVAC maintenance. However, I kept with it because it felt right and I trusted what our HVAC professionals had recommended. Well, it’s been 29 years on that junior varsity heat pump and all that HVAC maintenance has literally paid for itself. We got nearly a decade more heating and cooling out of that old heat pump than was projected. Additionally, we never had one instance of interruption to our quality heating and air. That’s right, 29 years of flawless quality heating and air all thanks to consistent, seasonal HVAC maintenance.
