Putting a ductless mini split in an old studio apartment

I spent way too much money needlessly renting a house without actually using it all myself.

It’s one thing to have a single additional bedroom, which can be used for storage or as a guest room.

However, I was renting a house with two extra bedrooms and two bathrooms. During the busiest times when I had actual family members stay with me at the house, I still couldn’t fill all of the rooms regardless of my best efforts. All of my friends told me that I should simply downsize. I was the type of person who only owned a few things, so I could easily make it work in an old studio apartment or something of that nature. That’s when I started looking for affordable studio apartments in my area and found the one I’m currently inhabiting. But instead of renting an apartment indefinitely, I decided to get a mortgage so I could purchase an apartment, or in this case an actual condominium. While the air conditioner in the old studio condo still works, it was over 18 years old when I acquired the unit. I chose to put a ductless mini split in the old studio condo because there aren’t additional rooms that need to be heated and cooled depending on the season of the year. The ductless mini split I purchased came with a DIY installation kit and I managed to get it all working without calling an HVAC technician to help me with the nuts and bolts of the installation. My new ductless mini split is also much colder than the old split style HVAC system that was in here previously.
