My Mom wanted to purchase a portable “air device”

A few years ago, my Mom called me and told me about this good portable air conditioner that he wanted to get, then apparently, he saw an ad on the internet for the unit that promised to cool down any space in 5 minutes, but i thought this sounded too good to be true, especially after he told me that it cost less than $100, but most portable air conditioners cost hundreds of dollars, so you can understand why I was so skeptical about this device.

I asked my Mom for the information about the portable air conditioning so that I could do some research on it, but well, it turns out that this portable air conditioner was actually just a glorified fan or an evaporative air cooler as stated in the description. I study a few of the reviews and most consumers didn’t like the unit because it failed to supply on what was promised… From what I read, this unit was unable to cool down an entire room. Instead, it was able to supply some cooling relief if the air was blowing directly on you. After explaining this to my Mom, he no longer wanted the device, but his plan was to use it for his shed so when he was working, he would have some kind of air conditioning in the Summer. If he stood in one spot while he worked, this portable “air conditioner” could possibly work; But since he’s consistently moving around inside his shed, this unit made no sense! Sometimes things sound too good to be true, and when they do, it’s best to spend a few minutes learning online reviews. In the end, it could prevent you from wasting your cash on an impulsive purchase.
