As recommended, I keep my thermostat set at 78 degrees

My little brother Jason is spending the week with me because he has a convention in the city that I live in. Typically, when he comes to visit, he stays for a weekend and then leaves to go back home. But this time, he will be here for the entire week. I live alone and I barely cook, nor do I have food in my house, so I went to the grocery store to pick up stuff that I know he likes to eat. Yesterday, I spent about 2 hours shopping because I went to 2 different grocery stores, so he was here by himself. When I returned home, my house was freezing cold, so I asked him about it. Apparently, he turned the thermostat down to 70 degrees. Typically, I keep it at 78 as that is the temperature recommended by most HVAC providers as well as HVAC technicians. I don’t mind Jason adjusting the thermostat in my house because I want him to be comfortable while he is staying here. But to be honest, setting the thermostat at 70 degrees is way too cold for me. So, I explained that I don’t mind him adjusting the thermostat, but the adjustment has to make sense. By that I mean, if it’s set at 78, in my head, a normal adjustment should be between 74 to 76. It might not sound like a lot, but adjusting the temperature on the thermostat down 8 degrees makes a huge difference inside my house. I don’t desire having to wear a sweatshirt or layers of clothing because it’s too cold inside. Anyway, after we discussed it, we agreed to keep the thermostat at 75 degrees while he is staying with me.
