The gas heating system damage was my fault
When my daughter woke me up in the middle of the evening from a deep and sound sleep, the first thing I saw was my breath.
I knew right then that my mistake had come back to bite me.
The central gas heating system wasn’t running plus it was one of the coldest evenings of the year. My wife plus I sleep with a thick feather comforter over us so I didn’t entirely notice. I burrow down into that bed plus let the heavy comforter lock in the heat. Plus, I keep the temperature control in the middle 60’s during the evening to save some money on the heating costs. Another thing I decided to save some money on was the heating repair. And that was a terrible mistake. I entirely don’t know what I was thinking at the time. I guess it’s because I did the same thing last winter season plus the winter season before. Since the COVID19 pandemic started, I’ve been finding any way I can to get the most from our income. But going without the heating repair was clearly a mistake. Still, I believed that since I’d been pretty consistent for a lot of years, I’d be able to squeak by without the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C repairs for a while. I put my daughter in the moderate spot next to my wife plus walked downstairs to see if I could restart the gas heating system. Of course, that didn’t work so I had to call the contractor for emergency Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C repairs plus I could almost hear the currency register sound in my mind as I did it. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C pro was able to change out the failed part pretty quickly. So I accomplished my goal of getting the heating turned back on. But he also confirmed that this was avoidable had I gotten the heater checked.
