Stupid to try HVAC repair
I think I went after the air conditioning solution on my own because I didn’t want to admit my mistake. The fact was that I just plain forgot all about the HVAC maintenance this Spring. I should have called the HVAC company to schedule the air conditioning tune up months ago. I just got busy and didn’t do it. While I didn’t outright lie to my wife about the missed HVAC maintenance, I wasn’t exactly forthcoming with the mistake either. We’re now well into May and this was the first time that we sort of had to leave the air conditioning on. I say sort of because the fact is that we just use the air conditioning quite sparingly in the Spring. This past week was the first time that we had to leave the thermostat on cooling and let it do it’s thing. It wasn’t quite Summer hot this past week, but it was closing in on it. So when I came home from work and the heat pump was silent, I pretty much knew just what was going on. Of course, I should have just accepted the fact that I made a mistake by not getting the air conditioning tune up and called the HVAC company. But instead, I desperately tried to find a way to get the cooling back on myself. I just didn’t want to have to admit that I’d blown it on the HVAC maintenance. Of course, that all went just about as well as one could imagine. My wife came home to find me trying to take the front panel off of the HVAC equipment. She stopped me and called the HVAC professionals right then. So I ended up having to cop to the fact that the air conditioning tune up didn’t happen.
