After a storm, a roofing company replaced my broken shingles

I live in the southern part of the country and last year, a bad storm passed through my town.

  • There were so many down trees, flooding, and overall damage to different homes in my neighborhood.

In addition, there was lots of roof damage as well. After the storm, I found so many pieces of shingles that broke off from my roof or from my neighbors’ roofs. I had no way of telling if the shingles came from my roof because I wasn’t able to climb up to the top of my house. And there was no physical evidence of leaks inside. So, I had my roof inspected by a licensed roofing company that I found online just to be sure that I had no major damage. The roofing company was able to inspect my roof and discovered that I was missing a few shingles. I live in a townhouse that has a garage, so I asked them to check the garage roof as well. Turns out there was a leak inside the garage, so the roof needed to be repaired as soon as possible. The good news is the damage to the roof was so minimal that the roofing company was able to fix the areas where there were missing shingles. Roof repair is not cheap and luckily, I was able to file a claim and my insurance covered the majority of the cost. My neighbors also had some roof damage and they ended up using the same roofing company that I used to fix my shingles. Since then, no more major storms have passed through this area, so we haven’t had any need for a roofing company. But if I ever need one, I will be contacting the same contractor.
