Getting ductwork inspected after major renovations
When I moved into my modern property I did some major renovating… It had popcorn ceilings in every room of the house.
I scraped all the popcorn, mudded the ceilings and sanded. I had a layer of white dust all over the place. I got all my ceilings white and smooth though. I then sanded all the bifold closet doors and painted them! My hubby ripped up the carpet and added modern tile floors. I sanded our wood walls and then painted white, then lastly, my hubby and I ripped down the shower surround, pulled up the floors and removed the bathroom closet, but now the property is all clean and modern looking. I realized that everytime our Heating and A/C component turned on there was a nice layer of dust all over my surfaces, then all that drywall dust got into my Heating and A/C component and then deep into my ductwork. I knew I needed to hire out ductwork cleaning. I called a local supplier right away to give them a scrub; While the duct cleaning services were there they suggested adding a ductwork maintenance plan, this is to ensure the ducts don’t get any leaks, cracks or dirt throughout the year. They come once a year to just ensure everything is in tip top shape. I do a lot of renovating in my spare time. I figured it was smart to get that ductwork maintenance plan. Now I know that my indoor air quality is clean and safe to breathe in. I don’t care for the idea of that old drywall dust lingering in there longer than necessary.
