Getting ductwork washed after major renovations
When I moved into my new condo I did some major renovating; It had popcorn ceilings in every room of the house.
I scraped all the popcorn, mudded the ceilings and sanded. I had a layer of white dust all over the locale. I got all my ceilings white and smooth though. I then sanded all the bifold closet doors and painted them, but my wife ripped up the carpet and added new cement floors. I sanded our wood walls and then painted white; Lastly, my wife and I ripped down the shower surround, pulled up the floors and detached the bathroom closet! Now the condo is all scrub and new looking. I realized that everytime our Heating and A/C component turned on there was a fantastic layer of dust all over my surfaces, however all that drywall dust got into my Heating and A/C component and then deep into my ductwork. I knew I needed to hire out ductwork cleaning. I called a local corporation right away to give them a scrub, and while the duct cleaning services were there they advocated adding a ductwork repair plan, and this is to ensure the ducts don’t get any leaks, cracks or dirt throughout the year. They come once a year to just ensure everything is in tip top shape. I do a lot of renovating in my spare time. I figured it was smart to get that ductwork repair plan. Now I know that my indoor air quality is scrub and safe to breathe in. I dislike the idea of that outdated drywall dust lingering in there longer than necessary.
