Helping young people in their heating technician careers

My dad was an HVAC professional with one of the most successful heating businesses in the country.

Throughout his career, he made it his responsibility to help young people looking to start their careers in the heater industry.

I learned a lot from my dad, and I intend to continue with his legacy. When I got a job as an HVAC serviceman, I proposed a program to my boss. It would be a program where I would impart all I had learned about electric heating systems to heating technician recruits. It took a few months and a lot of convincing and proving it was a viable idea for the directors to accept it and give the green light. In the meantime, I ensured I did not slack in my actual job, which included installing and performing heater maintenance on various heating equipment. I had a team of HVAC suppliers that I worked with to provide indoor comfort to our customers, including replacing their heating devices and wireless thermostats. I was ecstatic when I received news that the program had been accepted and fully funded. It has been a year, and the progress is tremendous. We have graduated our first cohort and adopted them into the company. Since we noticed different expertise in the recruits, we put them in their respective departments, including repairers and installers of electric heaters. The repairers know the working of the electric heat pump and what to do to improve its function, including using HEPA filters for better airflow. The program was a success, and so did the company benefit as they now have qualified and highly skilled experts, raising the quality of their services.
