HVAC replaced in the family home place

I didn’t really approach living in my parent’s home as weird or creepy when they passed it on to me.

In fact, sort of the opposite was true.

The property I inherited had been passed on to them as well. So it feels more like I’m honoring a tradition rather than living in my deceased parent’s home. For one thing, I grew up inside the heating and cooling of this house and lived here until I was out of the house and off to college. It’s not like I don’t know and love this home. Still, when my parents died, I wasn’t so sure that this house was for me. For one, it’s pretty big and I’m sharing this space with only one other person and a bunch of pets. And there was just so much to do when it came to updating appliances, flooring, heating and cooling as well as many other things. Yet, it was a free house and the property alone was worth a ton of money. So my wife and I decided to carry on the family tradition for at least one more generation. But we had to look for ways to really hold down certain costs. The cost of quality heating and air is a big one. That’s one of the main reasons we went with ductless heat pumps as opposed to replacing the central air conditioning. The ductwork in this old house was shot and it really was never designed for central air conditioning. So we ditched the old ductwork and went with a ductless multi split system for our heating and cooling. The best part is that each ductless heat pump has a separate thermostat. So we can more efficiently provide heating and cooling to the parts of the house we are in.
