I called for plumbing services.

I wasn’t happy when I called for plumbing services.

I told them I had a busted drain, and there was water all over my bathroom floor.

The person who answered the phone asked me to describe the problem. I looked at the phone and wondered if I had been speaking in tongues, or she wasn’t listening? Once again, I slowly told her I had a busted drain pipe and there was water all over my bathroom floor. She asked my name and address, which I gave to her. She asked if I could spell that for her? I said t-h-a-t. She wasn’t impressed and then asked me to spell my name. How hard is it to write down Mary Smith? I was less happy with her attitude than I was with needing to call for plumbing services. I spelled out Mary and then Smith. I then spelled the street name out for her; just for good measure. By the time I was done spelling, she once again had to ask me what the problem was? I asked her if she was part of the plumbing services. She told me she was the dispatcher. I asked her to spell that. She asked what she was supposed to spell, and I told her dispatcher. She got very uppity and told me she could have a plumber to the house within an hour if that was convenient for me. I would have waited two hours if it got me off the phone so I didn’t need to talk to the plumbing services dispatcher again. If the plumber was like her, I was in trouble.
