I Didn’t Have My Condenser Coils Cleaned For Years
I didn’t know that the Heating and Air Conditioning professional I was hiring to repair my Heating and Air Conditioning system wasn’t cleaning the Heating and Air Conditioning unit as well.
- I assumed cleaning the Heating and Air Conditioning unit was a part of the price I was paying twice per year.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and I had to find out the hard way! My boiler was running at all hours of the afternoon and my energy bill was rising each month, even though I was having my Heating and Air Conditioning system ran tests on like normal, but none of the Heating and Air Conditioning professionals that came ever told me about an issue with my boiler, so it was weird that my energy bill was rising. I had to hire an Heating and Air Conditioning professional to come examine my boiler in between my biannual servicings to tell me what was wrong with my boiler. When the Heating and Air Conditioning professional arrived, I told him how I was diligent about having my Heating and Air Conditioning system ran tests on but I was still having problems with my boiler and the energy bill. After looking around, he told me that my condenser coils were dirty and they needed to be cleaned. This shocked me because my last Heating and Air Conditioning appointment was a month ago! The Heating and Air Conditioning professional told me that most Heating and Air Conditioning companies didn’t cover Heating and Air Conditioning cleaning during a general service. It was a separate fee and it was advocated to be cleaned at least twice per year. I couldn’t know that I’d gone so long separate from having my Heating and Air Conditioning unit cleaned. There’s no telling how much dirt was coating my condenser coils, slowing down the efficiency of my Heating and Air Conditioning system completely.
