I found a reupholstering business in a neighboring town
Before my dear grandmother passed away, she gifted me her favorite set of antique chairs.
She had purchased them over 30 years ago at an antique store in the southern part of the country.
While I am not into antique furnishing, these chairs were beautiful. They were well-constructed, they had no damage to them, and the design was unlike anything that I had ever seen. The only thing that was wrong with the chairs was that they needed to be reupholstered. The fabric was worn out and needed to be replaced. I have never had anything like this done before and I knew absolutely nothing about reupholstering furniture. In fact, I didn’t know of any reupholstering businesses in my area. So, I went on the internet to see if there were any reupholstering businesses nearby. And though there were none in my city, I was able to find a small reupholstering business in a nearby town. I contacted the business and unfortunately, they weren’t able to provide a solid quote without seeing the chairs in person. They did mention that the minimum price would be $150, which I am not sure if that was a fair price or not. After doing some more research, I discovered videos of people reupholstering their furniture themselves. I even found someone reupholstering antique chairs that they purchased at an antique store. I thought about taking on this DIY challenge of reupholstering the chairs, but I didn’t want to take the chance and ruin them. So, I made an appointment with the reupholstering company, and I will be taking the chairs to get them done next week.
