I hate social media.
I used to think that all social media was for, so people could be bored without being alone.
They interacted with other boring people and talked a lot of nonsense.
One lady let everyone know when and what she ate, and even announced when she needed to go to the bathroom. My wife was so into social media and it’s going on that I had to announce I was home and needed food. I didn’t like social media then, but during the pandemic, I began hating it. Even before my sister called to tell me brother had died from covid, she put it on Facebook. My wife read the announcement of my brother’s death to me. I slammed her computer shut and told her I didn’t want her on there again. I started my HVAC company right before the pandemic, and I was sure it was going to be a failure. Surprisingly, my business grew quickly because of all the people who wanted whole-home air purification systems installed. As long as I wore a white suit, gloves, and booties, they were fine letting me come in the house. I was covered from head to toe. When I was told to advertise my HVAC company on social media, and specifically on Facebook, I went ballistic. I couldn’t figure out how anyone would pay attention to my HVAC company ads when they were busy being nosy about everyone’s lives but their own. Three years later, the Facebook ban is still on, but my online marketing expert uses it and other social media platforms for ads for the HVAC company.
