I needed temperature control for our art studio
A few years ago I decided to convert our Florida Room into an art studio.
If you aren’t really aware what a Florida Room is, basically it’s an exterior room such as a patio, that is completely screened in.
This keeps out the bugs, however still allows for wind as natural ventilation. I took down all of the screens plus put in windows plus walls. I laid down some heavy carpet over the brick patio floor, plus before long it looked like a real studio, and of course, this section was not affixed to the central heating, ventilation, plus A/C system of the house… Since it only had screens before there was no reason for heating or cooling it, and now that the space was an art studio I needed temperature control, not just for our own comfort however for the sake of the art… Excessive humidity needed to be eliminated, plus the air quality improved, or none of the paints or canvases would stay in great condition; then as I mentioned, the HVAC duct system from the main house was not affixed to the studio, plus I did not guess it was worth the money to buy an additional heating, ventilation, plus A/C system for just 1 room. Instead I bought a small, portable cooling component that combined a fan, an air conditioner, plus a dehumidifier. There is not actually much frigid weather in this section of the country, however I also got a cheap little space oil furnace to use in the winter. The cooling component will get the most use, plus I hope it is able to keep the air quality at a high level.
