I used my condo as a furnished short-term rental apartment
Recently, I moved from the southern part of the country to the Midwest region.
I decided to make the move because I was offered a job that I could not say no to.
It was a position as a manager, where I would have a team of 10 people reporting to me. I was so excited about the move, but everything manifested so quickly – faster than I expected. I went for the interview at the beginning of January and by the end of the month, I was already finalizing plans on how to make the move seamless. After I explored a few options, the one thing that made the most sense to me was to rent my condo as a furnished short-term rental. This meant that I didn’t have to move all my furniture across the country. In fact, I didn’t move anything at all, and I was able to secure a month to month lease with the tenant. Renting my condo as a furnished short-term rental allowed me to move with only my necessities, which meant that I had very little relocation expenses. In fact, I used the relocation stipend that I received from my company to pay for a corporate apartment in the new city that I moved to. I chose to rent a corporate apartment because I didn’t want to be locked into a long-term lease. Eventually, I would find a new place to call home in the new city. All in all, everything worked out well and renting my condo as a furnished short-term rental was the best decision that I could have made.
