Interior design
My entire life, I’ve had a real penchant for design.
I’ve always loved to make arts and crafts, combining colors and textures to tell a story without a word.
I knew it would be tricky to make a living in this way, and most traditional artists wind up employed at Starbucks to get by. After much debate, that’s how I wound up going into interior design. I love deciding the entire feel of a room, and searching for treasures until that vibe can fully come to life. Recently, however, I realized that there is another important component to getting the right “feel” to a room – proper indoor air temperature control. I never realized how crucial the right AC unit or heating source was to creating a consistent and relaxing indoor environment until the other day. I was at a client’s home, wrapping up their living room design, when suddenly the air started to feel so hot and humid. I removed a few layers, and called the owner to ask where the thermostat was. It was at this time that my day got very complicated, and soon I was in charge of arranging the whole HVAC appointment for them! I helped the heating and cooling technician to find and diagnose the AC problem, and within moments the house was cool and comfortable again. Even more wild was how my living room design changed with the addition of adequate air conditioning! Suddenly, the air felt fresh and clean, and the many shades of blue and green in the room sprang to life. Ever since that day, I never travel to a new client home without my HVAC technician backup.
