Issues with modern home’s plumbing system

When my hubby and I were touring houses to buy, we were certainly distraught with the size and location of the property; I was looking for a property with a large kitchen, plenty of closet space and a yard for the teenagers to play in; My hubby was focused on finding a two-car garage, an part to set up a workshop and the cost of dwelling taxes… Since we’d regularly rented apartments, we had no idea of the importance of the plumbing system, electrical system and heating and cooling system, while we paid for a household inspection, it was a total waste of money, the household inspection uncovered some problems with plugs that needed to be upgraded to GFIs and a missing railing around an outdoor patio.

  • What the inspector failed to find was outdated plumbing pipes so obstructed with taxing water buildup that the shower head and faucets barely gave any water pressure.

The drains were so blocked with soap scum, hair and grime that we were regularly faced with standing water! One toilet ran regularly while the other one frequently overflowed. My fine friend and I had problems with the water heater, the faucets and even the garden hose, all of the plumbing was a complete disaster. Within a year after moving into the home, we hired a professional plumbing dealer to upgrade everything. They installed modern pipes, modern drains, a modern water heater, modern pump and even needed to pump out the septic. My fine friend and I invested in modern faucets, sinks, tub, shower stall, toilets and had no choice but to upgrade all of the water-using appliances, such as the washing equipment and dishwasher.
