It’s the storm of the century, and my furnace breaks.

Earlier last month, we had a storm that the news was calling the storm of the century.

  • The snow was coming down so hard we couldn’t see anything.

It snowed for three days, and it was almost four foot deep before it stopped. It wasn’t the snow that had me so bothered, but my furnace. In the middle of the storm, my furnace broke. I called the HVAC technician, but there was nothing they could do. It was like a pandemic for the furnace. She said it was like everyone who was their customer was having a problem with their furnace. She said that if they could get an HVAC technician to my home, it would be a couple of days. I was lucky that we had a fireplace and several space heaters. We put a space heater in the basement, and one upstairs. We had a camping party in the living room. None of us could get to work or school, and I was glad I had bought groceries two days before the storm. The power went off one day and was off for almost 48 hours, but we didn’t care. We were having such an amazing family time that the storm meant little to us. It was like we were given precious time to be a family and roast marshmallows in the fireplace. Although it would have been nice to have the furnace; we weren’t panicking over it. Once the power came back on, we had lights, power strips for the water pipes, and we had each other..
