Jake the AC repairman
Jake was my neighbor growing up.
He and his father both work in the HVAC repair business.
I remember that there was always an AC repair van parked in their driveway. One summer, my father was having a hard time getting our AC to blow cold air. My father called the neighbor over to come assist. He brought his son, Jake, along. When they arrived, Jake was prepared to help by holding the flashlight for his father. An hour later, our air conditioner was once again blowing cold air. We were very thankful for our neighbor and Jake. Jake grew up always wanting to be just like his dad. He went on to become an HVAC technician. Jake came from a long line of HVAC repair men, including his father, grandfather, and two uncles. The uncles started an HVAC repair company when Jake was 12. He always knew that he would grow up working in the shop with his family. Once he graduated from highschool, he went right into HVAC technician school. Once he completed his HVAC certification, he knew he would be set with a job working for his family’s business. Jake worked very hard to obtain his certification in HVAC repair. He even continued on to become a with his career in another state where he opened another branch of his family’s business. It is rare to know what you want to be your career as a young child, and then go on to pursue those dreams. Jakes did exactly what he always knew he was meant to do.
