My mechanic husband compares car air con to house air filter
Men will always be men, thinking they can fix anything and everything.
We appreciate them for the effort, but it is always best to leave a technical problem to the real professionals.
Well, as a mechanic, he is a professional in his own right, but when fixing some household fixtures, like the air purification equipment, he ends up biting more than he can chew. I know he is trying to show kids that you can do anything when you put your mind to it, but when it is something beyond your comprehension, leave it to the experts. And if there is anything we argue about in the house, it’s the air quality. He always complains about how stuffy it gets at his workplace with all the fumes and dirty car parts, so he expects to breathe better air quality when he gets home. And he does! The problem comes when he wants to fix an HVAC issue or perform home service like an HVAC technician. He gets on my nerves because he thinks his car knowledge of the air filter is a transferable skill he can use to improve the indoor air quality in our house. This is someone who has difficulty operating our smart HVAC, let alone offering air purification help in the house. I dislike our back-and-forth arguments about this, so whenever I need assistance, I simply call the HVAC professional that handles our whole-home air purification system to come and check the HVAC equipment, however much my husband fumbles with the air purification system. I bet if we had ducts in the house, he would be all over trying to perform duct cleaning by himself, but I’d probably let him have his day because it is quite an involving task, and I doubt he would be up for it.
