Parts kept breaking down
I recognize I am the sort of person who gets way too affixed to things.
Whether we’re talking about people, places, or items…
I tend to form an emotional affixion to them that I cannot let go of. I often become so enmeshed with our surroundings and belongings that it certainly hurts me to section ways with them.I think that this isn’talways a wise way to transfer through life, because it ends up being really luxurious trying to maintain old belongings that need to be retired. For instance, I loved an outdated automobile that I repaired dozens of times until it finally pooped out over 350k miles. It would have been cheaper to buy a new car several years earlier than to perform all the professional repairs. Similarly, the exact same thing just happened with our indoor heating, cooling, and ventilation system. When I moved into this lake house I had to buy a central heating and cooling plan immediately. It was the first time that I bought our own indoor weather conditions control and something about that forced air heating system and Central A/C equipment made me really proud. I was emotionally affixed to the weather conditions control equipment because it signified maturity and independence. Over the years, the heating and cooling setup started to fail. I was constantly calling the local heating and cooling professional repair shop for emergency concerns with our indoor weather conditions control. However, I could not bring myself to upgrade the heating and cooling system. Over the years, I poured thousands into that heating and cooling plan. Finally, our heating and cooling contractor sat me down last year and told me, “It is time.” I have to say goodbye to my old heating and cooling system. I’ll be getting a brand new A/C and heating plan to enjoy that’ll work for many years.
