Realizing that the thermostat was not working properly when I had to keep lowering the temperature
I tend to be a very oblivious person.
I guess I am not very observant and I have trouble noticing everything. It is not hard to get something past me. I do believe in my book that is not a good thing for me. Luckily, it seems that I have never had a big issue with that. I have been working on it and try to be more aware of what is around me. Last week, I was very proud of myself in noticing something huge. Summer had just started and so we had a very hot week. I lowered the temperature on my thermostat to make the house feel a bit colder. As time went on I felt that I had to keep lowering the temperature because the house kept getting warmer as I would set it to one temperature. Eventually, I had gotten to a point where my house should have felt cool enough to be at the temperature of about 55 degrees. This is when I realized something was wrong. I called the HVAC technician and tried to explain what was wrong with it the best I could. He came over to my house to check the system. He told me that there was an issue with the communication in the thermostat. The thermostat is what tells the HVAC system what temperature to be at. It turns out that the thermostat needed to be replaced because there was no way of fixing it. If he did try it would break again. Sometimes the only option is to replace the equipment and this was one of those times. At least I caught on that something was wrong, eventually.
