Refrigerant crack leads to a/c updatement
The new a/c has been a large improvement.
Some of years ago, during the middle of summer, I observed that the condo swiftly felt uncomfortably overheated and sticky. I checked the thermostat and saw that the indoor temperature was much higher than the desired setting. Holding my hand up to a supply vent, I felt moderate air, however when I called for a repair, I fully expected to be told I needed a new a/c. The plan was quite old. The worker removed the outer cabinet, checked the several components and discovered a absolutely small refrigerant leak. She said there was no way of knowing if the leak was recent or outdated and gradual. She recommended simply refilling and recharging the refrigerant. There was a chance of the maintenance lasting one afternoon or several years. For parts and labor, the repair cost myself and others more than one hundred dollars… It was a cheaper decision than buying and installing a whole new a/c. The following summer, I faced the exact same problem. There was once again overheated air pouring from the vents. I was no longer willing to pay another more than one hundred dollar maintenance to get one summer time out of the old a/c. This time, I told the worker I was ready to update. The new a/c has been a large improvement. It provides superior comfort, energy efficiency and air quality. The operation is much quieter and my weekly electric bills are quite a bit lower. This plan is more environmentally friendly and keeps the condo cleaner. I’ve also observed that the current component more effectively combats excess humidity.
