Settling issues with the HOA should be easier

Overreaction is rampant these days, and this especially the case when it comes to people who have just a smidgen of authority… Still, I’m also entirely getting my fill of this automatic hostility and defensiveness that is pervading our culture… This has never been more consistent given the way the HOA has reacted to a minor heating plus air conditioning issue at my home… First of all, I should say that I agree that having rules and regulations are beneficial when it comes to ensuring property value remains steady, however I absolutely don’t want to have my property value come down because somebody has more than four used cars on blocks in their yard.

So I get the reason my friend and I need an HOA; however, the concern inherently is that my friend and I supply just a little bit of authority to people who are power hungry.

This is clearly evidenced given their overreaction to a small heating plus air conditioning situation at my house. The heating plus air conditioning at my beach house is not supposed to be seen from the street. This is 1 of the HOA rules. It seems as if it’s a fairly arbitrary rule and I don’t entirely understand what the purpose is. I mean my friend and I all have heating and cooling units so I don’t know what the large secret is! However, I also have complied with that rule by having a privacy hedge that screens the residential heating plus air conditioning. But unfortunately, my landscaping folks ended up trimming it way back as it was sort of unhealthy. And this resulted in the heating plus air conditioning device being able to be seen from the street. I’m now doing my best to calm the waters with the HOA until it can grow back.
