Supplipmenting Heat
I grew up in lovely South America where my parents were missionaries.
- I had a pretty cool childhood filled with lots of adventures that multiple children don’t get to experience.
I constantly thought that I would marry someone from the States & transport back south to where my parents were. Well, I did end up going to college in the States & marrying the girl of my dreams, but we didn’t transport back down to South America with my family. Todd, my wife, had a entirely good job in the States, so we decided to stay in the U.S. We live in a entirely cute neighborhood way up North, & I enjoy it! Something that totally hit me off guard though was getting used to the cold. I don’t remember even once having to use a heating system as a child. Our cabin didn’t even have a boiler, & everything ran on electricity, and having to pay a gas & electric bill was super current to me. During the winter, our gas bill is outrageously high, so we decided to try & supplement some electric heat. We have solar panels on our cabin that make it much cheaper for us to use electricity than gas. We bought two electric space heaters, & they have saved us so much money, & the cabin is much warmer than it has ever been, but living way up North absolutely has its cons, & one of them is the cold, but we have learned to stay quite moderate & enjoy even the very coldest winter months!
