The House Was Too Sealed

When my buddy and I bought our older home, my partner plus I decided to seal as much of it as my buddy and I could in order to keep our Heating, Ventilation & A/C treated air inside.

My pal and I didn’t have the currency to replace the windows plus doors right away, so sealing all the cracks was a more affordable opening for us.

My partner decided to invest his extra time on the weekend to seal everything off plus he did his own research on how to effectively do it. When he was done, I noticed that he used a ton of supplies, even though I didn’t question his technique since I wasn’t the one who researched the proper way to do it. A few afternoons later, I felt like the air quality in our house had decreased. The air was stuffy plus our entire family was sick, despite my partner’s reluctance, my buddy and I hired an Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional to come look at our heating system. My pal and I had assumed that something was malfunctioning plus causing the air to feel so different. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional noticed the DIY sealing that my partner did all over the doors plus windows plus he began questioning him about it. According to the Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional, he said that we’d over-sealed the house! I didn’t even know this was possible! The house was so tightly sealed that the air was stagnant inside plus airborne illnesses were floating around with nowhere to go. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional proposed my buddy and I run an whole-house air purifier to help transfer plus purify the air for the meantime. He was adamant that my buddy and I hire an Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional next year to seal our house though, because they knew exactly how much was needed to seal however still leave comfort.
