The repairs were a little more lavish than I expected
When I was starting our daycare, I wanted to find a building that was brand up-to-date with the best heating plus cooling system plus brand up-to-date carpeting.
I quickly realized that was not ever going to be possible when I saw the costs for the buildings. I had to quickly settle on an older building that was in the eastern section of the city. I was just outside of the neighborhood. It was a fine venue for the daycare plus real estate prices were cheap. I really got a lot of calls when I put up a sign outside that said I was going to be opening in a few weeks. I had to finally call someone to help me with all of the repairs that needed to be made. There were a lot of problems with the building. One of the repairs that were important to make was with the air duct. The central air duct repairs were significant, because the building was old. I wanted to make sure that the building was equipped with a state of the art heating plus A/C system plus an air filtration system. The various repairs were really more lavish than I expected. The corporation kept adding more plus more fees to the estimate… By the time my friend and I were done, I had spent more than $100,000 to repair the building. My budget for the repairs was over $70,000, so I blew the budget out of the water. Luckily I had a lot of purchasers sign up for daycare services before my friend and I even opened the doors. I knew it wasn’t going to take really long to recover all of the money I spent to really make the venue nice.
