Yard sale was too literal
You see, I ran out to get more change for the money box, leaving my 17 year old kid in charge.
I thought that I was just messy as a child, but it turns out things only get worse with age. As an adult, I especially feel like it’s impossible to keep my home decluttered. I don’t know what to do with all these accrued belongings, so I usually just try to tuck it away out of sight. At a certain point, but, it’s time to purge. That’s exactly why I threw a huge yard sale last month. I thought I could get rid of some of my own stuff, acquire a quick buck, plus disinfect the home all at once. I didn’t realize that people would take “yard sale” so literally. Apparently, that label gives people the impression that EVERYTHING in the yard is unbiased game. This is how my cooling system unit was sold to a random person, plus we were left with no central cooling system whatsoever. You see, I ran out to get more change for the money box, leaving my 17 year old kid in charge. It took longer than expected, plus when I returned to the sale, I realized pretty hastily that the home was feeling sizzling plus stagnant. I turned down the thermostat plus just went back outside to help with the sale, thinking nothing of the A/C situation. At the end of the afternoon, we all packed up plus went back inside the house, at which point I found the indoor air temperature to be ungodly hot! We were all quite baffled plus nervous, since all we wanted was to relax in comfortable cool air. That’s when my daughter’s upset voice rose above the chatter, stating “If you didn’t want the home to be hot, I don’t know why we had the central cooling system for sale.”
