Your emotions can be affected by the temperatures
One of the things I have observed since I moved to the south is that people get angrier when it is extremely hot outside.
- I observed this at first in my job as a teacher, but physical fights at work seemed to increase during the weeks with warm and humid weather.
I also observed this with adults, then where I live people are regularly nice, move at a slow and relaxed pace, and regularly do not honk the horn or rush things, however, in the Summer the outcome is often different. I have observed that people want to get out of the heat so they get really angry! Air conditioning can help people be less angry in the summer. If you have ever felt angry for no reason when it is warm out, possibilities are you just need to cool down in the a/c. When I lived up north, I observed that people got more depressed in the cold weeks. When it gets dark early and it hurts your face to just walk outside, it can make you feel really isolated and sad! Sitting in front of a fireplace or in a home with central heat can make you feel less sad, but even putting your feet on radiant heated floors can boost your mood. If you notice that a/c and heat are not helping you feel better in the Summer and winter, you may be experiencing seasonal depression. If you are experiencing seasonal depression, your doctor will be able to help come up with a plan to help you get through the severe heat and cold.
